Colonel...I'll address this subject in greater detail...later! BUT....no, I would not PUBLICLY predict the Saints winning, although I KNEW they would! How did I know? Details to follow....

Post Re: Question for HST
I was pulling for the Saints. I was so tired all about how great Peyton Manning is for the past week, and how the Saints didn't stand a chance. Manning has always been known as the QB who couldn't win the big game, since he was at UT. He has won one Super Bowl. Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Tom Brady, Bart Starr, Terry Bradshaw, all won more than once in the big game. Manning is not there yet, and may never be. Congrads to the Saints.

Ok, here we go......

Some people can find God's presence in the strangest places. I listened to the game (was at work!), and found God's justice therein. I last saw Peyton Manning when he was a ball boy for the Saints, about age 13 or so. He used to run the bench, telling everybody that he was glad his Dad got traded, and how bad he was, and so on. Remember this, you will see it again....

Flash forward to his Super Bowl win; ya'll remember the press doted on how, "Archie's Boy", won a Super Bowl- and didn't really harp too much on his quarterbacking? And then, the next year, Eli won his- and the press did pretty much the same thing?

Well, folks, I KNEW beyond a doubt that the Saints were gonna win, because Peyton had to get paid back for his dishonoring of his father! The whole time that boy was growing up, he went out of his way to NOT be like Archie, down to hanging out with Bobby Scott on the Saints' bench. Think about it; Cooper went to Ole Miss, Eli went to Ole Miss- Peyton went to TENNESSEE- Bobby Scott's alma mater! Peyton followed Bobby Scott around like a puppydog!

Anyway, God had to take him down a notch. Wheaties boxes, all those commercials......and his Dads old team not only beats him in a Super Bowl- AFTER the press SWEARS that he was the greatest to ever play the position- but they make him look helpless in the process! Therefore, if any of you all have any doubts about the existence of God, and what it costs to ignore his word, well....look no further than Peyton Manning's experience last night.

Colonel, the story of why the Saints never had a winning season before Jim Mora hasn't been written yet. I thought about writing it, but I'm not a "tell-all", kinda person- and besides, all of the old Saints players are dying off like WW2 vets!!(LOL) None of that "Kitty Kelley" crap for me- I'm not GOD, and it ain't for me to pass judgement on folks. I will say this,though- the Saints had a succession of coaches from 1970 to 1980; J.D. Roberts, John North, Ernie Hefferle, Hank Stram, Dick Nolan, and Dick Stanfel. Only ONE of them was not, "Ku-Klux", oriented. I won't even go into the General managers, or the directors of Player Personnel, but...PAT PEPPLER (Lombardi's personnel guy!) could not win with the Saints- and that alone should tell the observant just what was going on back then!
With all of that said, I hope that the team votes to give a miniature SB trophy to John Mecom's (the original owner) family; he really loved that team, and it would be a great and honorable gesture. Actually, they should have activated Archie for that one game, and let him just do the final kneeldown; they OWED that to him!

Ben Rothlisberger has more than P. Manning, too.
